A Team Transmission

I would recommend everyone find a different transmission shop. This place does very dirty work and will go out of their way to make a customer buy unneeded repairs. I watched them take clean transmission fluid out of a car and put metal shavings from the bench grinder in the fluid to make the customer think their transmission is bad. They can't be trusted to fix a car right either, numerous vehicles had to have the transmission pulled multiple times and rebuilt multiple times before they could get it right. I recommend pretty much any other transmission rebuilder cause you will not be happy with the work received from this company.

I dropped my car off for a diagnostic because my car keeps cutting off while I’m driving. When I dropped it off, I was advised to give them 24-48 hours for the diagnostic. They had my car for over a week. I had to call them three times to get an update on my car before I was finally able to pick it up. They weren’t able to tell me what’s wrong with my car since they couldn’t “replicate the issue”. Not only do I have to take it to another mechanic, but I also have to pay to get something fixed that was clearly damaged while they had my car.

I had tried my hand at swapping my SI's clutch but had to abandon due to complications with the bell-housing and I put it all back together. About 7 miles down the road my car lets out a clunk. Every gear's a neutral. Called up A-Team and they sent a wrecker out to pick my car up the same day. Once they had a lift available they took a look at my car and identified the driver's side axle hadn't been seated properly. They cleaned out the transmission, installed the clutch-kit I was trying to install from the start, put it back together and slid the new axle into place after waiting for it to arrive. Labor came out to be about the same as if I'd have taken it to the shop to begin with. A lovely bit of grace. The crew and especially the managers are great and humorous guys who'll stop at nothing to ensure a properly done job with the highest customer satisfaction. Only pieces they "missed" were more-so my problem, such as the engine shield which is a PITA to get on and off (Probably for the best that I put it back on as I know how to work around its finickiness). The other oddity was a clunk that I knew was the driver's side tie-rod joint, as I'd forgotten to put the pin back in when I attempted the clutch swap prior to them working on it. Corrected it and tightened it back down without issue. They seemed to enjoy having my SI in the shop, with it being newer, cleaner, and just a piece of candy to be around and drive. If I ever have any sort of transmission work needs doing, I'll definitely consider A-Team Transmission!

I came in to Ohio from out of town and had transmission issues. They checked it out, and I was pretty lucky to even had made it here. The end result was my transmission needed to be rebuilt. They told me this was going to take two weeks, but I am from Florida and needed to get home to my family so they promised to try to expedite me. That being said they had my transmission rebuilt and the vehicle back to me in less than a week. They did a fan tastic job, and I am so grateful for their help. I would highly recommend to anyone in their area.

A great place to take your car. I especially like the fact that the owner thanked his employees for doing different tasks. That shows that you appreciate them and what they do. Don't use Google maps to get there. Simply either go entirely west up Refugee Rd . Cross over Gender Rd. Turn left at the street with the Pizza Hut and go all the way to the end of the street. It's behind a Napa Auto Parts store. Google map will take you to the neighborhood behind the shop. The fence will prevent you from going in! Lol

Since I don't know anything about transmissions I was really concerned when we took my daughter's car in for repair as well as the potential cost. However, Chris was very thorough when explaining the issue and patient with us and our many questions. The issue ended up being not nearly as bad as we thought and therefore the cost was substantially lower. Chris was very honest and up front with us. Thank you to him and the ATeam.

Took my van in on a Friday. The diagnostic indicated a transmission rebuild which would be at least a week to repair. When they started to pull it out the following Monday they saw wires that had been eaten through. Replaced those and a shift sensor and that's all it needed. I was able to pick it up that same day. They saved me $2000 in repair costs. They also saw another issue that they don't work on but recommended getting that looked at. Their honesty and integrity make them a place I would highly recommend.
